Getting There & Making The Most of Turkey
Visas
Please stay up to date on visa expectations as the event comes closer. As of July 2022, Brits do not need a visa and US citizens can get an e-visa ahead of time or a visa on arrival at the desk in Istanbul or the two local airports (paid in cash only, though they accept dollars too).
The below will take you to the Turkish government website which should have the most recent information.
Flying In
We do recommend booking by March/April 2023 as this is when our wedding planner has confirmed is ideal. Please let us know when you’ve booked, which flight you’re on, and where you’re staying.
There are two main airports in Cappadocia; Kayseri & Nevsehir. Kayseri is about 1 hour drive from Uçhisar, but has many more flight options available. Nevsehir is about 30 minutes away. Most flights will fly through Istanbul and we highly recommend a stop there on your way in or out.
Taxis are available at the airport and do use a meter for an affordable rate. Come prepared with cash as they do not take cards (Euros or Lira).
